Healthy mouth = healthy body.

Keeping your mouth healthy is vital to our overall health. If you have an excess amount of oral bacteria then it will enter your blood stream and reach other areas of your body. This can cause minor or major complications effecting how your body functions.

Inflammation (swelling) is a symptom of gum disease: it allows oral bacteria to enter your bloodstream and reach other parts of your body. As your body repeatedly fights the bacteria, your immune system will become depleted, leaving you more and more susceptible to disease.

Brushing your teeth and gums twice a day and flossing daily is your best defense, along with a daily mouth wash, as it removes the harmful bacteria from your mouth. If you miss brushing or flossing, the bacteria will attack your teeth and gums leading to possible decay and gum disease. Which leads to bigger problems in your mouth like, root canals, extractions, bridges, crowns, fillings, etc.

It is critical that you ensure excellent home care and that you book (and keep!) regular recare and dental cleanings. Has your recare been suspended? Let’s get it back on track – an excellent offense is your best defense. 778 294 1514
